14 faces, 8 triangles and 6 squares, with a rare uniformity of vertices and edges.
The cuboctahedron holds a place apart among polyhedra. Buckminster Fuller renamed it the Vector Equilibrium, for it is the only structure whose inner and outer lengths are rigorously equal: all its vectors share the same length and the same angular relationship. From an energetic standpoint, it represents the ultimate and perfect condition, the instant when the movement of energy comes to a state of balance, of absolute silence.
“The vector equilibrium is the zero starting point for happenings or nonhappenings: it is the empty theater and empty circus and empty universe ready to accommodate any act and any audience.”
— Buckminster Fuller
Closed. The geometry complete in itself. The archetypal fulfillment.
Open. To hold a plant, a candle, a crystal, and to settle, naturally.
Glass is a fragile material. Given the complexity of some creations, slight imperfections may appear; they bear witness to the handmade work.
Clean gently with a microfiber cloth, without applying any product directly onto the piece (put it on the cloth instead). The pieces are not 100% watertight: do not immerse them, and do not leave them hanging outdoors for long periods.
Do not hang the geometries above people's heads in living spaces. Favor a spot close to a wall instead, or place them at head height.
