Icosahedron

20 triangular faces, 12 vertices, 30 edges · built, it too, on the golden ratio.

Plato entrusted it with water. Primordial.

The sea, a lake, the river, motionless within movement.

Twenty triangular faces. Thirty edges. Twelve vertices. Twenty equilateral triangles drawing a sphere, like so many particles seeking, from everywhere at once, the same distance.

With the dodecahedron it keeps a rare relationship: they are duals. The number of faces of one is the number of vertices of the other. Two geometries answering each other, containing each other, echoing each other. The same score, played in reverse.

An atomic cluster, 12 atoms at the vertices, one at the center. As if nature kept returning to the same answer. An icosahedral capsid, to envelop life at the microscopic scale.

Perhaps that is what Plato had sensed, without seeing it.

Open or closed

Closed. The geometry complete in itself. The archetypal fulfillment.

Open. To hold a plant, a candle, a crystal, and to settle, naturally.

Glass is a fragile material. Given the complexity of some creations, slight imperfections may appear; they bear witness to the handmade work.

Clean gently with a microfiber cloth, without applying any product directly onto the piece (put it on the cloth instead). The pieces are not 100% watertight: do not immerse them, and do not leave them hanging outdoors for long periods.

Do not hang the geometries above people's heads in living spaces. Favor a spot close to a wall instead, or place them at head height.
